 Governor Tim Pawlenty appointed
Sheila Reger Commissioner of Administration effective May 11, 2009. Reger
served as Deputy Commissioner of the department from December 2004 until her
appointment by the Governor. She has also held several other positions in
state government, including Deputy Secretary of State.
The department's 500 employees offer a diverse range of services to state and local government, the education community and citizens. These government services include facilities and maintenance, building construction planning and management, purchasing and procurement, contracting, vehicle leasing, demographic and census data and geographic information technology.

Strategic Plan is also available on the Internet.
The Department of Administration is providing leadership for aligning the state's technology strategies with the business objectives of the Pawlenty-Molnau Administration. "The Pawlenty-Molnau Plan: Minnesota 's Drive to Excellence," is viewable on the Drive to Excellence web site, www.excellence.state.mn.us. Measurable outcomes of the plan are:
- Creating more "one-stop shop" opportunities for easy access to government services for citizens and business customers.
- Reduce the cost of delivering government administrative services.
- Increase the electronic delivery of government administrative services.
- Improve the statewide availability of broadband communications through partnerships with key private and public stakeholders.
- Transition workforce resources and increase employee technical skills to improve customer service.
